I know neither shot is perfect and the sun that day was far to bright to get the effect I was after without taking multiple exposures and patching the over exposed area,but this shows perfectly the difference a good quality RAW converter can make even on a crap picture.
On the left is my raw file processed through my Adobe lightroom trial and the right is the same RAW file using my previous RAW converter.Both are straight from RAW converted in less than ten miniutes with no further editing........GOD DAAAAAMN I LOVE LIGHTROOM!!!

BTW this shot hasn't worked as I'd hoped and isn't really worth patching up so if anybody could make use of this as stock please let me know and I'll get the full size file to you:)

I'll scrap this soon.

i'm using LR for a year... or more... well, the only thing that i do in PS last weeks is removing magenta's saturation...

Wow-sers. Huge difference. Maybe I'll trial run lightroom to process some of my RAW files. Everything so far ahs been the JPEG version only.

It's well worth giving a test drive.This was literally a quick ten minuite edit and imagine the quality with a better RAW file to process....I'm in love it,can't wait to take new shots to play with.

You can download it from Adobe.com,you have to create an account with them but the download should'nt take too long...I think it's about 180MB give or take.

Camera RAW included with Photoshop CSx has the same functionality (except library ;P) and is way faster :] I use Bridge for sorting photos and CameraRAW for editing ;] Lightroom is also nice and much easier i think... But i had some problems with it :/ Photos from CR and LR were different with the very same setting :/

:clap: Nice! I've often found that altering exposure levels as well as the contrast makes a huge difference..so simple yet so effective :D
