I absolutely adore this piece, the subtlety of the tones and colour and the relatively simplicity of the composition are all perfectly judged.
I think a lot of artists would have been tempted to go hell for leather in photoshop and milk dry the purple and blue hues of the sky or maybe even introduce a whole new colour artificially but this piece work's on it's natural and subtle tones. There is just enough, the perect amount in fact,of colour in the sky to balance the green in the foreground and the whole piece allows the eye to rest easily within it's frame with no distracting objects or wayward lines.

As this is a critique I think I'd be doing a dis-service were I not to make a suggestion so I think maybe the slightest of tweaks on the contrast could bring alive the foreground a little or possibly a slight increase of the sharpness to that area.....but really it's minor tweaks and I can imagine both having a negative effect on the subtlety and restrained hand that mark's this shot out from others like it.

The only real negative thing I can think to say is that this only has fifteen faves,I think that is criminal.

I want this on my wall.

Thank you Matthew, I'm glad that you like this one, it's my personal fav' from this shoot.
I did try sharpening and increasing the contrast but it did lose the natural quality that I think it has.
This has had a 10% saturation increase and a very shallow "S" in curves.
Thanks again for your considered thoughts.

Your very welcome,I knew as soon as I saw this piece that I had to say a little about it.

Do you have Adobe Lightroom as that may be able to bring out the foreground slightly without losing any quality or any of the subtlety. It's amazing what some of the features in that software can do.
Failing that you could try using the colour balance in phtoshop to increase the yellow value of the highlight 's in just the foreground which along with maybe a little touch of green in the shadows could help make the foreground stand out a bit more.

Having said that I think it's pretty damn perfect as it is:)

This is edited in Lightroom and I tried all manner of things befor I settled on this. I didn't want to lose that feeling of quiet solitude and dark dampness and any attempt at increasing contrast or sharpness just made the whole thing look too hard and strong. It's very easy to overcook an image as I often do so I decided less is more for this one.;)
